We are looking for an experienced Tableau Server Administrator with 6+ years of hands-on experience in managing Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop environments. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in server administration, data integration, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and optimal performance. You will also be responsible for automating administrative tasks using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell, and working with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. This role requires a deep understanding of networking, authentication protocols, and data security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tableau Server Administration:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Tableau Server and related components to ensure the server is up-to-date and fully operational.
  • Manage server performance, security, and scalability to ensure optimal uptime and responsiveness for users.
  • Perform regular backups, upgrades, and maintenance of the Tableau environment to ensure its smooth operation.

• User and Permissions Management:

  • Manage Tableau users, groups, and permissions to control access to data and dashboards.
  • Enforce governance policies to maintain data security and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Monitor user activity and audit access logs to ensure compliance with security protocols.

• Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Troubleshoot performance issues related to Tableau Server, dashboards, and reports, and optimize server configurations to enhance performance.
  • Fine-tune Tableau dashboards and reports to improve user experience and responsiveness.
  • Set up monitoring tools to track server health, resource utilization, and potential bottlenecks.

• Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and end-users to understand requirements and ensure proper delivery of reports and dashboards.
  • Provide training and support to Tableau users, including best practices and advanced functionalities.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of complex dashboards and data visualizations.

• Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure the implementation of authentication protocols (e.g., SSO, LDAP) to maintain data security.
  • Maintain a secure environment by enforcing best practices related to data governance, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

• Reporting and Documentation:

  • Generate and present performance metrics and usage statistics for Tableau Server, helping stakeholders understand server health and performance.
  • Provide guidance on Tableau development standards, including efficient data modeling and design, to ensure the long-term success of the Tableau environment.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in Tableau Server administration, with hands-on experience in managing both Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop environments.
• Strong knowledge of Tableau Server architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in scripting languages like Python and PowerShell for automation and system management.
• Solid understanding of data sources, data integration, and SQL for troubleshooting and optimizing data flows.
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of networking, authentication protocols (e.g., SSO, LDAP), and security best practices for managing a Tableau environment.
