We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dimensional Data Modeler/Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing dimensional data models that support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in dimensional modeling, strong SQL skills, and a deep understanding of ETL processes, data governance, and data quality. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the data models meet business needs and support analytical reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Dimensional Data Modeling:

• Design and develop dimensional data models (fact tables, dimension tables, and star schemas) to support business intelligence and data warehousing initiatives.
• Implement industry-standard methodologies for dimensional modeling, ensuring that data models are efficient, scalable, and optimized for reporting.
• Translate business requirements into well-defined data models that can be used for reporting, analysis, and decision-making.

SQL & Data Analysis:

• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities to improve the data model and reporting capabilities.
• Optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.

ETL Processes & Data Integration:

• Work closely with ETL teams to ensure proper data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes are implemented according to the dimensional data models.
• Help design and maintain the data integration processes to ensure the smooth flow of data between systems.

Data Governance & Quality:

• Ensure compliance with data governance principles and industry standards for data quality and security.
• Work with data governance teams to implement and maintain data quality processes.
• Monitor data integrity and ensure accurate reporting based on the data models.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders, to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
• Provide guidance and expertise to stakeholders on data-related issues, ensuring alignment with business objectives and reporting needs.

Problem-Solving & Analysis:

• Apply strong analytical skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve data-related issues.
• Proactively address data inconsistencies, optimization challenges, and performance bottlenecks.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in dimensional data modeling, preferably in a business intelligence or data warehousing environment.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in designing and implementing dimensional data models (fact tables, dimension tables, star schemas) using industry-standard methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and proficiency in data querying, analysis, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration techniques.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles, data quality practices, and standards.
• BI Tools: Experience with Power BI or other BI tools for reporting and analysis.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Independent Worker: Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) for data warehousing and BI solutions.
• Familiarity with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect).
• Certification in BI, data modeling, or related fields is a plus.
